CODA Festival 2024 coming to Cork! Call for artists, poets, facilitators & more

    “CODA culture and identity”

We are delighted to hear that a CODA Festival is coming to Cork to celebrate the culture and identity of children of deaf adults, 4-5 Oct 2024. The exciting event is being run by the Institute of Social Sciences in the 21st Century (ISS21) at University College Cork, who are currently inviting CODA artists and performers to submit their work for consideration.

Artists, performers, readers, poets, storytellers and workshop facilitators from Ireland, the United Kingdom and all other countries are welcome to submit their work. The call is open to all mediums, including but not limited to performance, books, signed stories, poetry, art, workshops and presentations.

The theme for the CODA Festival is “CODA culture and identity”.

Identity – Culture – Language – Tradition – Heritage

CODA adults, children & families

Abstracts of art work, performances, books, poetry, storytelling will be accepted for the following topic areas:

  • CODA identity in family, school and society
  • CODA life experiences of sign language
  • Making sense of CODA culture
  • CODAs navigating between two worlds

Registration opens: 02 March 2024

Deadline for abstracts: 01 April 2024

Notification of acceptance: 01 June 2024

Registration closes: 01 September 2024
